The GEM-CON-BIO results are structured to answer policy and governance relevant questions, in close cooperation with policy makers and stakeholders. An informal on-line consultation has been operational during the whole course of the project. In this respect, the consortium developed policy guidelines in consultation with stakeholders as results are generated from case studies and research. The project culminated in a policy conference that discussed the outcomes of the research and the development of guidelines. The conference took place in Brussels on 7 April 2008, and ensured that at the end of the project useful and effective guidelines were produced.
